The griever often wants to blame themselves for a loss. If only...I had been there, I had called, I had paid more attention, I had stayed home. The list is endless whether the death is natural, accidental, or suicidal. Suffering a loss is simply that. There is a loss, and we are grieving it. To try to place blame is a story we create. It is not a fact. The fact is our loved one is no longer with us. Keep the sorrow clean. Be kind to yourself and others.
